Rafael

Rafael Hostettler is co-founder and CEO of Plim, a human-in-the-loop humanoid robot for in-home care, operated remotely by trained carers with AI progressively taking over routine tasks. He led Roboy, the open-source humanoid robotics research project exploring tendon-driven, human-like robots and human-robot interaction — the technical lineage Robody comes from. He also co-founded Medical Templates AG, which developed CT-guided navigation technology for interventional procedures and biopsies, taking it through certification before moving to a board role. Deep humanoid robotics research plus getting a regulated medical device to market is an unusual pairing, and it is exactly what this company needs. He holds a Master's from ETH Zurich, and has built robots modelled on the human body ever since.
