Will
Founder & CEO, Liferaft
Will leads Liferaft as founder and CEO.
Will Cowell de Gruchy is founder and CEO of Liferaft, which gives farmers an end-to-end way to turn crop residue into biochar — locking carbon away for centuries, improving soil health and cutting fertiliser costs, while unlocking carbon credits and soil health tax credits. Before Liferaft he founded and ran Infogrid as CEO for six years, a smart-buildings IoT company he scaled into a global operation backed by SoftBank's Vision Fund 2 and Northzone. That is directly relevant experience: a capital-intensive hardware-and-software business, dependent on supplier and debt relationships, selling something physical into a conservative industry. Liferaft is the same shape of problem in a different field. He studied History at Oxford.
